Discover the Map of Numbers
Painting a picture of road safety
The word on the street
If you ever find yourself on Roxas Street in Metro Manila, chances are you will bump into a one-of-a-kind wall mural created by Bosch. Big in size and vividness, the artwork aims to spark a much needed public discussion and behavior adjustment on a topic that is crucial to all – road and vehicle safety.
Watch how technology turns Bosch's vision of mobility into art.
Sending messages with meaning
Named “Map of Numbers”, the mural forms part of a recent initiative by Bosch in driving road and vehicle safety awareness in regions which suffer from devastating impacts. The colorful artwork is part of realizing Bosch’s vision for mobility: zero accidents, zero stress and as close to zero emissions as possible. The creative inspiration stems from within Bosch’s talented and visionary workforce. Several numbers represent interesting figures related to Bosch’s long-term connection to the mobility industry. Other numbers reveal shocking statistics about the mobility landscape in Southeast Asia. The design aims to simultaneously support widespread education and the positive results which technology can achieve.
A synergy between art and technology
The application of the artwork is driven by technology. Instead of painting the artwork by hand, Bosch partnered an Estonian start-up, inventors of a robot muralist named Albert. Albert is a smart printing robot that “prints” artwork layer by layer onto surfaces. The “Map of Numbers” is probably the world’s largest printed wall mural to date, standing roughly the size of one tennis court.
90%
Did you know? 90% of all accidents resulting in injury are the result of human error.
This is not the first time Bosch has combined art and technology to promote public awareness in the region. Similar initiatives can be found in both Malaysia and Myanmar. However, each project aims to be larger and more ambitious than the last. The “Map of Numbers” certainly won’t be the last time Bosch brings the beauty of art and the power of knowledge to the people of Southeast Asia.
